Tourism Boost in Bayana: Vijaygarh Fort and Baraitha Dam to be Developed

Bayana (Bharatpur), June 10, 2025 — The district administration has launched a strategic initiative to develop Bayana in Bharatpur as a tourism hub. On Tuesday, District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav and Zila Parishad CEO Mridul Singh visited the historic Vijaygarh Fort and Baraitha Dam.

They were accompanied by SDM Deepak Mittal, Tehsildar Ankur Jain, BDO Narendra Singh, Naib Tehsildar Vaishali Dhakad, and other officials.

Plans for Vijaygarh Fort

The Collector unveiled plans to put Vijaygarh Fort on the tourism map:

  • Roads leading to the fort will be improved.
  • The site will undergo land leveling and installation of lighting systems.
  • A cafeteria will be set up for tourists.
  • A documentary film will be produced to showcase the fort’s historical legacy.
  • Cultural events will also be organized within the premises.

Tehsildar Ankur Jain emphasized that the initiative aims to revive the region’s historical significance and create employment opportunities for local youth. The Collector has instructed officials to complete all developments within a set timeframe.

With these efforts, Bayana is set to become a key tourist destination in the Bharatpur district.
