In Dholpur’s Bari town, police have arrested a quack doctor, Thakurdas, accused of causing the death of a 21-year-old nursing student, Avinash Meena, due to medical negligence.

The incident occurred on May 19, when Avinash, suffering from stomach pain, visited Thakurdas’ illegal clinic near Ambedkar Park. Improper treatment led to his unconsciousness and later death.

The accused, a 10th-grade pass, had been running an unauthorized clinic for nearly 20 years. A case was registered under IPC Sections 106(1), 318(4), and the Medical Council Act based on a complaint by the victim’s uncle. Acting on a tip, a special police team led by SI Harveer Singh arrested Thakurdas from an old house on Dhanora Road.
