Jaipur Police Busts Chain Snatching Gang, Four Arrested

In a major crackdown, Bajaj Nagar and Jawahar Nagar police in Jaipur, with the help of DST East, arrested four members of an active chain-snatching gang. The police recovered two gold chains, two motorcycles, a country-made pistol, and two live cartridges from the accused.

DCP East Tejaswini Gautam said that there had been a surge in chain-snatching incidents in East Jaipur. Based on the pattern, police suspected an active gang. Anil and Dholiya were initially detained, leading to the arrest of Mukesh and Suraj.

🔍 Modus Operandi:

The accused used stolen bikes or scooters to carry out thefts in crowded areas, believing that police blockades wouldn’t catch them. During one chase, Anil fell while fleeing and was caught by Bajaj Nagar police.

The accused confessed to crimes in Bajaj Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Malviya Nagar, and Ashok Nagar. They will be taken on police remand again for further interrogation to uncover more cases.
