The Bari-based Kanchanpur police station in Dholpur has arrested a wanted criminal, Sonu Gurjar, who carried a ₹20,000 reward. He was absconding in connection with an April 8 firing and assault case in Gadarai Ka Pura village.
According to SHO Anoop Kumar, the incident began when Ramsharan Kushwaha objected to intruders letting buffaloes into his farm. This led to a violent attack by a dozen men including Bhola and Awadhesh from Jamalpur. The group fired gunshots and assaulted Ramsharan at his residence.
During the arrest, police recovered a country-made pistol and live cartridges from the accused. The search for the remaining culprits is ongoing.
