Dausa Shocker: Gunmen Open Fire on Jatav Samaj Youth President in Mahwa

A shocking incident took place late at night in the Mahwa area of Rajasthan’s Dausa district, where unknown assailants opened fire on Hariom Thekedar, the youth president of the Jatav Samaj Sudhar Samiti representing 360 villages. The attack occurred on the Mahwa–Ghazipur road, creating panic in the region. Fortunately, Hariom and his uncle escaped unharmed.
Incident Details
According to the FIR lodged at Mahwa police station, the incident happened on April 20, 2026. Hariom Thekedar, a resident of Jatav Basti in Hindaun City, was returning home with his uncle Sahil, son of Amar Singh Jatav, after attending a wedding in Jhadisapura village.
They left the venue around 11:30 PM in their car (Grand Vitara, RJ 34 CA 7963). On the way, they reached Ghazipur Mod and then went towards Khatana CNG Pump on Hindaun Road, Mahwa, to refill CNG. However, due to unavailability of gas, they decided to return home.
Firing on a Deserted Road
At around 11:55 PM, before the toll plaza and nearly 1.5 kilometers ahead of a petrol pump, two unidentified youths standing on the roadside suddenly opened fire on their vehicle with the intent to kill. The bullet pierced through the front passenger-side window, shattering it, and exited after breaking the driver-side window.
Despite the sudden attack, Hariom managed to drive quickly and reached the toll plaza, saving their lives. The attackers fled towards nearby fields after the firing.
Police Action and Investigation
Hariom immediately informed the Dausa control room about the incident. Based on his complaint, an FIR has been registered at Mahwa police station against unknown assailants. Police have started an investigation and are searching for the suspects.
Fear in the Area, Demand for Strict Action
The incident has created fear among local residents. Social groups have strongly condemned the attack and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Hariom Thekedar has urged the authorities to take strict legal action to ensure justice and prevent such incidents in the future.
