Attack on Jatav Youth Leader in Hindaun, Memorandum Submitted Demanding Arrest and Police Protection

Hindaun City/Karauli, April 29, 2026:
A shocking firing incident targeting Hariom Thekedar, the youth president of the Jatav Samaj Sudhar Samiti, has triggered anger and concern in Hindaun City of Rajasthanโs Karauli district. On Tuesday, members of the Jatav community submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, demanding swift action against the attackers.
According to committee spokesperson Rinku Khedi Haivat, the incident took place on the night of April 20, 2026, around 11:45 PM. Hariom Thekedar was traveling on Hindaun Road between Khatana Petrol Pump and Gazipur Toll Plaza when unidentified assailants opened fire on his vehicle. Fortunately, he narrowly escaped, avoiding what could have been a fatal attack.
Following the incident, an FIR (No. 179/2026) was registered on April 21 at Mahuwa Police Station. The case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 โ Sections 109(1), 3(5), and Section 3/25 of the Arms Act. However, no เคเคฐเฅเคชเฅ has been identified or arrested so far, which has intensified public anger.
Community members stated that Hariom Thekedar is an active youth leader and social worker, and the attack on him has created fear and insecurity within the Jatav community. They emphasized that the incident is not just an attack on an individual, but a serious threat to social safety and law and order in the region.
In the memorandum, the community also warned that if immediate action is not taken, they will be compelled to launch a protest movement.

- Immediate identification and arrest of the unidentified attackers.
- A fair and transparent investigation into the incident with strict legal action against the culprits.
- Provision of police protection to Hariom Thekedar and his family.
- Increase in police patrolling in the area to prevent such incidents in the future.
- Granting a licensed weapon for self-defense to Hariom Thekedar.
Several prominent members of the community were present while submitting the memorandum, including spokesperson Rinku Khedi Haivat, youth president Hariom Thekedar, womenโs president and Karauli-Dholpur parliamentary candidate Indu Jatav, along with Deepak Jatav, Indraj Jatav, Hardwari Jatav, Nemi Chand Tesgaon, and others.
The committee has urged the administration to act swiftly and firmly to ensure justice, restore public confidence, and send a strong message against such criminal acts.
