Trump Urges Iran to Surrender, Questions Whereabouts of New Supreme Leader

Washington: Amid growing tensions in the Middle East, U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Iran to surrender, while dismissing the possibility of an immediate ceasefire. Speaking during a telephone interview with a television channel, Trump said he was not satisfied with the current situation despite signals that Tehran may be interested in easing hostilities.

Trump Rejects Immediate Deal With Tehran

According to Trump, Iran may be open to negotiations, but he is not ready to accept a deal unless the terms are strong enough. “Iran wants an agreement, but I don’t want one yet because the conditions are not good enough,” he said during the conversation. The president emphasized that any future agreement with Tehran must be “very solid” and clearly beneficial.

Questions Over Iran’s New Supreme Leader

Trump also raised doubts about the health and status of Mojtaba Khamenei, who reportedly assumed the role of Supreme Leader after the death of Ali Khamenei. Referring to the leader’s absence from public view, Trump suggested that even his survival was uncertain.“I don’t know if he’s even alive,” Trump said. “No one seems to have met him recently, and I’m hearing that he may not be alive.”

Call for ‘A Smart Move’ From Tehran

Trump added that if Mojtaba Khamenei is alive, he should take what he described as a “smart step” for the country by surrendering and ending the confrontation.

Earlier, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had claimed that recent military strikes left the Iranian leader injured and possibly disfigured. Hegseth also alleged that Iran’s leadership is currently “afraid,” “wounded,” and lacking legitimacy following the attacks.

Uncertain Path Ahead

With strong statements from Washington and ongoing instability in the region, the prospects for a quick diplomatic breakthrough between the United States and Iran appear uncertain. Observers say the situation could further intensify unless both sides move toward meaningful dialogue.
