During a press briefing held at Jodhpur House in New Delhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma hailed the highly anticipated Yamuna Water Project agreement between Rajasthan and Haryana as a “golden chapter” in the state’s water history. The Chief Minister categorically stated that this is not merely a standard water-sharing contract; rather, it serves as a robust foundation for the bright future, long-term water security, and economic prosperity of crores of state residents.

A 30-Year Wait Ends: Permanent Solution for Shekhawati

The Chief Minister highlighted that this massive mega-project, estimated to cost around ₹34,102 crore, will act as a lifeline, particularly for the parched Shekhawati region (comprising Churu, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu) and other water-scarce areas of the state.

Key Social and Economic Benefits of the Project:

Drinking Water Security: It will ensure the availability of clean and safe drinking water for millions of families across the targeted districts.

Groundwater Conservation: The influx of canal water will significantly reduce the region’s heavy dependence on rapidly depleting groundwater levels, giving nature a chance to recharge.

Accelerated Economic Growth: Increased water availability will create a favorable environment for industries, thereby attracting major investments to the state.

Boost to Agriculture and Employment: The agricultural and animal husbandry sectors will receive a massive boost, generating new and diverse employment opportunities in both rural and urban areas.

The Triumph of a ‘Double Engine’ Government

Chief Minister Sharma credited this historic achievement to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the effective guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the excellent coordination between the central and state governments.

He remarked that the “double-engine government” has once again proven that when public welfare is the supreme priority, even the most complex issues pending for three decades can be resolved amicably and positively. During the briefing, he also highly appreciated the technical guidance and administrative support provided by Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil.

Stepping Towards a Developed Rajasthan-2047

Aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’ (Developed India 2047), the Chief Minister emphasized that water security is a fundamental pillar of nation-building. He noted that water is not just the basis of life, but the most crucial resource for maintaining social and environmental balance.

He assured the people of the state that the Rajasthan government is fully committed to implementing this ambitious project on the ground in a time-bound manner and with the highest quality standards. Every phase of the project will undergo regular, high-level reviews to ensure that its benefits reach the common man at the earliest.

Conclusion: The Yamuna Water Agreement is set to emerge as a new current of development, prosperity, and happiness for Rajasthan in the coming years. This monumental investment of ₹34,102 crore will liberate future generations from the shackles of water scarcity, proving to be the cornerstone in building a self-reliant and water-secure Rajasthan.

Prioritizing passenger security, each air-conditioned vehicle is fitted with CCTV cameras and emergency panic buttons. Taking a hands-on approach, the Chief Minister bought a ticket from the counter and traveled alongside regular passengers from Amar Jawan Jyoti to the State Hangar to personally assess the quality of the public transport.

1,150 E-Buses Sanctioned for 8 Cities in Rajasthan

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted that the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, launched the ‘PM E-Bus Seva’ in August 2023 to transform the face of urban transit. The central government is assisting the state with comprehensive infrastructure support, ranging from depot construction to operational logistics. Eight key cities in Rajasthan—Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Alwar, and Ajmer—have been selected for this scheme.

With a massive total of 1,150 e-buses sanctioned for the state, the CM announced that the first phase, comprising 675 buses, will be fully operational by the upcoming Diwali festival.
Aligning green transport with ecological conservation, the Chief Minister lauded the ongoing ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ campaign, under which a record 20 crore saplings have already been planted. He strongly urged the citizens of the state to actively participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree-plantation initiative to boost the region’s green cover.

JAIPUR: In a significant move aimed at employee welfare and boosting administrative efficiency, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has announced a two-year relaxation in the service period required for departmental promotions. Fulfilling a key promise from the State Budget 2026-27, the government has also given the green light for the creation of 149 new official posts in the State Secretariat, opening up fresh government job opportunities for the youth.

Key Highlights of this News:

Major Relief in Promotions: Government employees will now receive a two-year relaxation in the mandatory experience or service period required to qualify for their next rank.

Exclusion Criteria: Personnel who have already availed of this specific relaxation during the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) years 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 will be excluded from this new benefit.

149 New Secretariat Posts: Official approval has been granted to create 15 Assistant Secretary, 67 Assistant Section Officer, and 67 LDC Grade-I positions.

Employment Boost: This administrative expansion will secure faster career progression for current staff while paving the way for upcoming recruitment drives for unemployed youth.

Amendments in Service Rules on the Horizon

Demonstrating a strong commitment to the welfare and career growth of the state workforce, the Rajasthan government is actively implementing its recent budgetary announcements. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, various departmental service rules will soon undergo necessary amendments to legally integrate this two-year relaxation in promotion eligibility. This crucial decision will bring massive relief to thousands of government employees who have been waiting for their promotions but were falling slightly short of the required service duration.

Enhancing Operational Efficiency in the Secretariat

Alongside easing promotion norms, the state government remains highly focused on strengthening its core administrative framework. To ensure the swift disposal of public files, better governance, and enhanced operational efficiency at the State Secretariat, CM Sharma has sanctioned the creation of several new gazetted and non-gazetted positions.

The newly approved bureaucratic structure includes the creation of 15 dedicated posts for Assistant Secretaries. Furthermore, to streamline the daily clerical workload and administrative tasks, 67 posts for Assistant Section Officers and 67 posts for Clerks Grade-I (LDC) have been officially authorized.

By taking these dual measures, the Chief Minister aims to boost the morale of the existing government workforce while simultaneously creating golden employment opportunities for the state’s youth through upcoming Secretariat recruitment drives.

JAIPUR: In a decisive move to ensure absolute accountability and transparency within the state’s bureaucratic machinery, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has taken stringent action against negligent and undisciplined government officials. On Wednesday, the Chief Minister cleared a backlog by disposing of 19 long-pending departmental inquiry cases. Sending a strong message against dereliction of duty, the state government has ordered the immediate stoppage of annual increments for serving officers and proportional pension cuts for retired personnel found guilty.

Key Highlights of this News:

Massive Crackdown: CM Bhajanlal Sharma resolves 19 pending departmental inquiry cases to enforce a zero-tolerance policy on administrative negligence.

Increments Halted: Annual salary increments of four serving state officers have been stopped after charges were proven under CCA rules.

Pension Deductions: The proportional pensions of eight retired officials have been permanently withheld across seven separate cases.

Relief for the Innocent: Five officers, including one IFS official, have been honorably exonerated and granted relief due to unproven charges.

Zero Tolerance: Action Against Serving and Retired Officials

Demonstrating a no-compromise stance on administrative lethargy, the state government wielded the axe on both current and former bureaucrats. According to official reports, the Chief Minister approved strict punitive measures against four serving state service officers. Following the complete substantiation of charges under Rule 16 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958, their annual salary increments have been officially blocked.

The government’s crackdown was not limited to current employees. The Chief Minister also sanctioned proposals to halt the proportional pensions of eight retired officers who were found guilty during seven separate investigations conducted under the stringent Rule 16 CCA.

Verdicts on Review Petitions

The Chief Minister also delivered clear and final verdicts on several review petitions filed by officers challenging previous disciplinary actions. After a meticulous evaluation of the facts and records, the initial punishment in four cases was deemed entirely appropriate and upheld without any modifications. However, in one specific case, the penalty was slightly modified and limited based on the factual merits of the appeal.

Justice Ensured: Five Officers Exonerated

While the government remained firm on punishing the guilty, it also ensured that justice was served to those wrongfully accused. CM Sharma granted major relief to an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer by terminating the ongoing disciplinary proceedings right at the preliminary written submission stage. Furthermore, four other administrative officers involved in two separate cases were honorably exonerated and given a clean chit, as the allegations leveled against them could not be conclusively proven with adequate evidence.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, these firm, timely, and impartial decisions are expected to establish greater accountability, boost efficiency, and bring complete transparency to the daily operations of government departments.

JAIPUR: In a major push to accelerate the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme in Rajasthan, Discoms Chairman and Managing Director of Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam, Ms. Aarti Dogra, convened a high-level meeting on Wednesday at Vidyut Bhawan. Engaging with solar power developers and banking representatives, she strongly directed financial institutions to eliminate practical hurdles and expedite the loan approval process, ensuring timely financial assistance for eligible developers to boost green energy in the agricultural sector.

Key Highlights of this News:

Hassle-Free Loan Approvals: The Discoms Chairman instructed banks to avoid unnecessary administrative delays and introduce practical flexibility into their lending conditions.

Monthly Zonal Camps: Starting July 2026, special camps will be organized every month at the zonal level for the immediate, on-the-spot resolution of pending loan applications.

Rajasthan Leads the Nation: The state has already set a benchmark by successfully establishing 2,034 solar plants with a combined capacity of 4,468 MW under Components A and C of the KUSUM scheme.

Collaborative Problem Solving: Upcoming camps will bring together developers, bankers, and Discom officials under one roof to clear bottlenecks related to collateral and land registrations.

Empowering Farmers Through Green Energy

Addressing the stakeholders, Discoms Chairman Ms. Aarti Dogra emphasized that PM-KUSUM is a highly ambitious, centrally sponsored scheme of national importance. Its primary objective is to promote the use of green energy in agriculture and make the country’s farmers completely self-reliant in power generation. She highlighted that the active cooperation and financial backing of banking institutions are the backbone of achieving this sustainable target on time.

Simplify and Accelerate the Lending Process

Ms. Dogra urged the banking representatives to adopt a proactive and positive approach toward the loan applications submitted by solar power developers. She clarified that while banks must thoroughly complete their mandatory legal and financial formalities, eligible applicants should not be entangled in complex procedural webs. A streamlined, transparent, and accelerated financial support system is essential to speed up the installation of solar power plants in rural areas.

Addressing Ground-Level Administrative Challenges

During the interactive session, solar developers highlighted several critical bottlenecks that slow down project funding. They pointed out that complex procedures involving collateral security, lease registration, land mutation, account division, and right-of-way issues often lead to severe delays in loan disbursement.

Conversely, bank officials defended their processes, noting that delays are sometimes inevitable when developers fail to submit the required paperwork and complete formalities on time. Striking a balance, Ms. Dogra requested the banks to accommodate the unique business model of the KUSUM scheme and offer practical relaxations. In response, bankers assured the Chairman that they understand the scheme’s significance and will clear all pending applications on a priority basis.

Key Highlights of this News:

The intensity of the campaign is increasing with each passing day. On Monday, June 15 alone, legal action was taken against 7,208 vehicles across the state. This included 2,646 challans for black films and 1,926 for illegal number plates.

At the district level, Jaipur West recorded the highest number of actions on Monday with 470 cases.
DG Traffic Appeals for Public Cooperation
