Jaipur, June 15, 2026. Taking a decisive stand toward making Rajasthan crime-free and secure, Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against criminal activities. During a high-level crime review meeting held via video conferencing at the Police Headquarters in Jaipur on Monday, the DGP issued clear directives to police officials across the state to immediately demolish illegal properties acquired by gangsters. Furthermore, the police will now take stringent action against individuals who misuse the law to file false cases.

Key Highlights of the Meeting:

Strike Against Gangsters: The administration will bulldoze illegal properties owned by organized criminals and extortionists; their bank accounts will also be under constant surveillance.

Action Against Fake FIRs: A strict approach will be adopted against those who mislead the law by filing fabricated cases.

Curbing Drugs and Cyber Fraud: Special action plans will be formulated against drug peddlers, with swift measures promised for cases involving ‘digital arrest’ and online scams.

NEET Exam Security: Stringent security arrangements are in place for the upcoming NEET examination, with continuous monitoring through CCTV cameras.

Zero Tolerance for Organized Crime and Cyber Fraud

Addressing the meeting, DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma stated that the dream of a ‘Developed Rajasthan’ can only be realized when the state’s law and order are robust. He instructed all Range IGs and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to ensure the effective implementation of new criminal laws. Orders have been issued to confiscate the properties of gangs involved in extortion to dismantle their criminal influence. Additionally, emphasis was placed on providing specialized training to police personnel in modern technical investigation methods to combat the rising tide of digital arrests and online fraud.

Anti-Drug Campaign and Clearance of Pending Cases

To break the cycle of drug abuse among the youth, all District SPs have been directed to launch a structured and systematic campaign. The DGP instructed officers to ensure that any sensitive incident is reported immediately to the Police Headquarters so that necessary guidance and support can be provided in time. Furthermore, the focus remains on disposing of long-pending cases and old files in police stations to ensure prompt justice for victims.

Focus on Road Safety Awareness and NEET Exam

Expressing concern over road accidents, the DGP remarked that a single accident affects an entire family. He directed officials to ensure 100% adherence to lane discipline on National Highways and urban areas, while implementing strict enforcement against traffic rule violators. He also mandated year-round road safety awareness campaigns. Regarding the upcoming NEET examination, the DGP directed that all necessary arrangements be made for a smooth and peaceful conduct of the exam, emphasizing strict adherence to guidelines and continuous surveillance through CCTV.

In a relentless drive to uproot the illegal drug trade, the Rajasthan Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) launched a massive statewide crackdown on ‘Super Sunday.’ Operating under the strict directions of IG Vikas Kumar, task force units collaborated with local police to execute six major raids across five districts—Bhilwara, Karauli, Barmer, Nagaur, and Udaipur. The highly coordinated operations resulted in the seizure of various narcotics worth approximately ₹92 lakh in the international market, the arrest of six hardcore smugglers, and the confiscation of three vehicles.

Key Highlights of this News

Coordinated Strike: ANTF carried out 6 major surgical strikes against drug syndicates in 5 different districts on a single day.

High-Tech Smuggling Busted: Police used gas cutters to slice open a truck in Bhilwara, recovering 517 kg of poppy husk hidden in secret chambers.

Illegal Farming Destroyed: Busted illicit cannabis cultivation in Karauli, seizing 139 green plants and booking the landowner under the NDPS Act.

Disguised Operations: Smugglers caught selling deadly narcotics under the guise of a tea cafe and a clothing shop in Barmer.

Gas Cutters Reveal the ‘Secret Chambers’ of Death: The most dramatic operation unfolded in the Mandal police station area of Bhilwara. Acting on a tip-off about a drug consignment moving from Mewar to Marwar, the ANTF intercepted a suspicious truck near the Kothari River bridge. The driver, Prakash Jat, attempted to flee but was quickly overpowered. Initially, the truck appeared empty. However, a meticulous inspection revealed custom-built, one-foot-deep secret chambers welded tightly between the chassis, body, and cabin. Police brought in gas cutter machines to slice through the heavy iron sheets, recovering a massive 517.07 kg of illegal poppy husk (Doda Chura). The accused was being paid ₹20,000 per trip to deliver the contraband.

Cannabis Farm Thriving in a Private Garden: In Hindaun City, Karauli, the ANTF raided a private garden on Bayana Road following verified intelligence. Ground measurements conducted with local revenue officials revealed that illegal cannabis (ganja) was being cultivated over 0.23 hectares of land. The police uprooted and seized 139 green cannabis plants weighing 26.215 kg. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the landowner, Prateek Chaturvedi.

Drugs Sold Over Tea and Clothes: Drug peddlers in Rajasthan are adopting deceptive fronts to evade the police. In Chohtan, Barmer, a joint raid at ‘Marwar Tea & Cafe’ caught the owner, Kaluram Bishnoi, red-handed with 1.806 kg of poppy husk and 75 grams of manufactured opium. Similarly, in Barmer’s Dhanau town, police raided ‘Ramesh Vastra Bhandar,’ a clothing store run by a history-sheeter named Thansingh Jat. A thorough search of the shop led to the recovery of 448 grams of poppy husk.

Smugglers Nabbed in Udaipur and Nagaur: The crackdown continued in Udaipur, where Savina police intercepted two youths—Nawazish Khan and Sanjay Lohar—who tried to flee on a scooty upon spotting the cops. A search of the two-wheeler’s boot yielded nearly half a kilogram of marijuana. Meanwhile, in Nagaur’s Gogelav village, the police chased down a numberless Bolero SUV and arrested a notorious smuggler, Nathuram Jat, recovering 7 grams of smack. Nathuram had previously been jailed by the ANTF earlier this year.

Bravehearts to be Honored; Appeal to the Public: Commending the spectacular success of the operations, ANTF IG Vikas Kumar praised the exceptional groundwork laid by the local police stations. He announced that all police officers and personnel involved in this mega-operation will be officially honored at the ANTF Headquarters.

Furthermore, the IG issued a strong appeal to the public to join the “Drug-Free India” mission. Citizens possessing any information regarding drug peddlers can confidentially report it to the ANTF Control Room at 0141-2502877 or via WhatsApp at 9261225056. The identity of the informers will be kept strictly secret.

Hindaun City (Karauli): In a glaring display of deteriorating law and order, fearless miscreants orchestrated a life-threatening attack in Rajasthan’s Hindaun City late Thursday night. Hariom Thekedar, the Youth President of the District Jatav Samaj Sudhar Samiti (Karauli-Sawai Madhopur-Dausa, representing 360 villages), narrowly escaped death when armed assailants opened fire on him. The bullet pierced right through his left arm, saving him by a hair’s breadth.

This audacious shootout is not an isolated incident but the third consecutive attack on the 45-year-old community leader in the last two months, raising severe questions about the effectiveness of the local police administration and the safety of citizens.

Ambushed in the Dark: Bullet Pierces Through the Arm

According to the official written complaint submitted to the Kotwali Police Station, Hindaun City, the terrifying ordeal took place on the night of June 11, 2026, at approximately 10:30 PM.

Hariom Thekedar was riding his motorcycle from his residence in Anand Vihar towards Kanjolipura. As he approached the road opposite the cremation ground near Khereta Mod, two assailants lay in wait. One was standing on the road while the other had a motorcycle started and ready. The moment Hariom came within a 10-meter range, they fired. The second bullet struck him, passing clean through the flesh just above his left elbow.

Turned Away by Private Hospital

Bleeding profusely, the injured leader rushed to a nearby private facility, ‘Sai Hospital’. However, citing the medico-legal nature of the bullet injury, the hospital administration refused to provide even primary first aid. He was subsequently rushed to the emergency ward of the Government District Hospital in Hindaun City, where he underwent overnight treatment.

A Chronology of Terror: Third Strike on the Family

The victim asserts that a well-planned conspiracy is being executed to eliminate him. The police complaint highlights a chilling timeline of previous attacks on his life and property:

April 20, 2026: Assailants fired shots at him with the intent to kill. An FIR (No. 0179) regarding this incident is already registered at the Mahwa Police Station.

Suspects Named and Community Outrage

In his latest complaint, Hariom Thekedar has explicitly raised suspicions against two individuals: Tarachand (a resident of Anand Vihar) and a liquor contractor named Seemendra Beniwal.

The consecutive attacks have sparked massive outrage among the Jatav community and local residents. Community leaders have strongly condemned the police’s failure to act decisively after the previous shootout and stone-pelting incidents. Fearing for the safety of his 70-year-old mother and children, the victim has demanded a completely unbiased investigation, immediate scanning of area CCTV footage, the prompt arrest of the conspirators, and robust police protection.

The local police have registered the case and launched an intensive manhunt to track down the shooters.

JAIPUR: In one of its most decisive crackdowns on financial crime, the Enforcement Wing-II of the Commercial Taxes Department in Rajasthan has busted a highly organized tax evasion racket. Authorities have officially arrested the mastermind behind a massive Goods and Services Tax (GST) fraud totaling over ₹50 crore. The high-profile arrest has sent shockwaves through the regional trading community.

Accused Remanded to Judicial Custody

According to official departmental sources, the prime accused has been identified as Mahesh Chand Gupta, son of Kanhaiya Lal Gupta. Gupta is a resident of Plot No. 204, Bangad Mansion, 2/305, Sector-2, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Jaipur.

Following the collection of undeniable digital and physical evidence, the enforcement team produced Gupta before the Special Court (Economic Offences) in Jaipur on Wednesday. Recognizing the severe damage caused to the state exchequer, the honorable court rejected bail and remanded the accused to judicial custody.

The Modus Operandi: Unrecorded Almond Trade

A meticulous verification of seized business documents, digital records, and a comprehensive audit report revealed a sophisticated shadow operation run by the accused:

Operation of JSM Industries: Mahesh Chand Gupta was operating a firm under the name JSM Industries.

The Almond Syndicate: Over three consecutive financial years—FY 2022-23, FY 2023-24, and FY 2024-25—the firm engaged in the large-scale procurement and distribution of premium taxable commodities, primarily almonds.

Running a Parallel Economy: This massive trading volume was deliberately left completely off the company’s official books of accounts. The syndicate managed the secret supply, unrecorded storage, and clearance of goods without issuing valid tax invoices or paying a single rupee in mandatory GST.

By operating this parallel network, the firm successfully evaded more than ₹50 crore in taxes. The Commercial Taxes Department has extended its investigation to uncover other shell firms, network accomplices, or external entities linked to this tax evasion syndicate.

Arrest Under Section 69 of the GST Act

Given the deliberate concealment of turnover and the scale of the financial fraud, the Enforcement Wing exercised its statutory powers. Mahesh Chand Gupta was arrested under Section 69 of the Central/State Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, which authorizes immediate arrest in cases where tax evasion exceeds the legally prescribed thresholds for cognizable offences.

The Enforcement Team Behind the Bust

The successful execution of this operation was the result of seamless coordination between high-level strategists and field enforcement officers.

Leadership & Strategy:

The operation was executed under the direct guidance of Babu Singh Chouhan, Additional Commissioner (Administration), Enforcement Wing-II, and closely monitored by Harendra Choudhary, Joint Commissioner (Circle-A).

The Field Investigation Team:

Sandeep Kumar Choudhary (Assistant Commissioner)

Rajesh Kumar Yadav (Assistant Commissioner)

Sunil Dutt Sharma (State Tax Officer)

Rahul Natani (State Tax Officer)

Department Vows Continued Crackdown

The Commercial Taxes Department issued a stern warning following the arrest, reiterating its absolute commitment to completely dismantling illegal trade syndicates operating without valid legal documentation. Officials stated that to ensure a transparent revenue system and protect honest taxpayers, strict legal actions and rigorous crackdowns against tax evaders will continue aggressively across the state.

Disclaimer:

This news report is written based on official press releases from the Commercial Taxes Department of Rajasthan and proceedings from the Special Court (Economic Offences), Jaipur. The investigation is ongoing under the provisions of the GST Act, and final culpability is subject to judicial verdict.

Karauli, Rajasthan: A Dalit family in Karauli district has submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, alleging physical assault, caste-based harassment, and inaction by the police. The family has requested immediate intervention and legal action against the accused.

According to the memorandum, Meena Devi, a resident of Bhim Nagar under Karauli Kotwali police station limits, alleged that a dispute over a public pathway led to an altercation with some local residents. She claimed that when she objected to the obstruction of the pathway, the accused allegedly used caste-related slurs and physically assaulted her.

The family further alleged that other relatives who attempted to intervene were also subjected to physical violence during the incident. Several family members reportedly sustained injuries and received medical treatment at the District Hospital in Karauli.

The complainants stated that despite reporting the matter to the local police, no effective action has been taken so far. As a result, they approached the district administration and requested a fair investigation into the allegations.

In the memorandum, the family has demanded that a case be registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, that strict legal action be taken against the accused, and that security be provided to the affected family members.

No official statement from the district administration or police authorities had been issued at the time of reporting.
Jaipur | State Bureau

A massive “Special Preventive Campaign” led by Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta has successfully disrupted major illicit liquor networks across Rajasthan. Over a span of just 12 days (May 1 to May 12, 2026), the department has intensified its crackdown through strategic checkpoints, patrols, and targeted raids.

Key Campaign Statistics (May 1–12, 2026)

The department’s latest report highlights a significant blow to the manufacturing and smuggling sectors of the illegal liquor trade:

Category

Statistics

Total Cases Registered (FIRs)

1,158

Total Arrests

460 Individuals

Licit Spirits (Wash) Destroyed

333,565 Liters

Vehicles Seized

45 (9 Heavy, 2 Light Four-Wheelers, 34 Two-Wheelers)

Breakdown of Seized Contraband

The operation successfully intercepted various categories of illegal alcohol, preventing substantial revenue loss and potential health hazards:

Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL): 3,921 liters seized, valued at approximately ₹40.17 lakh.

Country Liquor: 4,419 liters seized, valued at approximately ₹11.86 lakh.

Hand-Tapped (Hathkad) Liquor: 7,845 liters seized, with numerous illegal furnaces destroyed in districts like Alwar, Jhalawar, Dausa, and Jaipur.

Beer: 1,562 liters seized, valued at ₹3.53 lakh.

Regional Impact: Major Success in Udaipur and Hanumangarh

The campaign saw its most significant breakthroughs in the Udaipur and Hanumangarh districts, where combined seizures totaled ₹1.25 crore in illegal English spirits. Authorities also reported high-intensity raids in Rajsamand and Jodhpur, where thousands of liters of raw material (wash) were destroyed on-site to dismantle local production rings.

Expert Analysis: The Importance of Strategic Enforcement

This sustained pressure by the Excise Department serves a dual purpose: securing state revenue and protecting public health by preventing the circulation of potentially toxic, unregulated alcohol. Commissioner Mehta’s “Zero Tolerance” mandate ensures that both the logistics (vehicles) and the production (furnaces/wash) of these criminal networks are being targeted simultaneously.

Disclaimer: This report is based on official data and press briefings provided by the Rajasthan Excise Department regarding the Special Preventive Campaign 2026.

Udaipur. A disturbing incident of caste-based violence has surfaced from the Udaipur district of Rajasthan, threatening social harmony in the region. On the night of April 29, a Dalit family’s wedding celebration in Hariyav village, under the jurisdiction of the Dabok Police Station, was violently disrupted by anti-social elements fueled by prejudice.

Details of the Incident

According to reports, the Bindoli (wedding procession) of Pooja Meghwal, daughter of local resident Bhairulal Meghwal, was passing through the main village road at approximately 10:00 PM. During the festivities, a group of dominant-caste individuals blocked the path. Witnesses state that the attackers used casteist slurs and ordered the procession to halt immediately.

The situation escalated quickly as the attackers forcibly pulled the bride off her horse and shut down the music system (DJ). Armed with sticks, iron rods, and swords, the mob began pelting stones at the wedding party. Several people, including women, sustained injuries; Manju Meghwal suffered a severe head injury. Other victims identified include Vardichand, Ganesh, Jitu, and Laxmibai. The victims further alleged that women were molested during the chaos, and their jewelry, including mangalsutras, was snatched.

BSP Delegation Demands Justice

Following the incident, a high-level delegation from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) visited the grieving family to offer support. Acting on the directions of State In-charge Advocate Jagdish Chandra Pal, a team including Udaipur Zone In-charge CP Khatiq and former MLA candidate Advocate Suresh Kumar Meghwal met with the victims and local police.

The BSP leadership has issued a stern ultimatum to the administration: if the perpetrators are not arrested immediately and prosecuted under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the party will launch a large-scale state-wide agitation. District President Shiv Kumar Gautam, Hoshyar Singh Jatav, and other party workers were present to demand swift legal action.

Current Situation

While the village remains in a state of uneasy calm, additional police forces have been deployed to prevent further escalation. Authorities are currently investigating the matter and are reportedly using CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to identify and apprehend the suspects.
