Massive Crackdown by Rajasthan ANTF: ā¹92 Lakh Drugs Seized, Truck Cut Open in ‘Super Sunday’ Raids Across 5 Districts

In a relentless drive to uproot the illegal drug trade, the Rajasthan Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) launched a massive statewide crackdown on ‘Super Sunday.’ Operating under the strict directions of IG Vikas Kumar, task force units collaborated with local police to execute six major raids across five districtsāBhilwara, Karauli, Barmer, Nagaur, and Udaipur. The highly coordinated operations resulted in the seizure of various narcotics worth approximately ā¹92 lakh in the international market, the arrest of six hardcore smugglers, and the confiscation of three vehicles.

Gas Cutters Reveal the ‘Secret Chambers’ of Death: The most dramatic operation unfolded in the Mandal police station area of Bhilwara. Acting on a tip-off about a drug consignment moving from Mewar to Marwar, the ANTF intercepted a suspicious truck near the Kothari River bridge. The driver, Prakash Jat, attempted to flee but was quickly overpowered. Initially, the truck appeared empty. However, a meticulous inspection revealed custom-built, one-foot-deep secret chambers welded tightly between the chassis, body, and cabin. Police brought in gas cutter machines to slice through the heavy iron sheets, recovering a massive 517.07 kg of illegal poppy husk (Doda Chura). The accused was being paid ā¹20,000 per trip to deliver the contraband.
Cannabis Farm Thriving in a Private Garden: In Hindaun City, Karauli, the ANTF raided a private garden on Bayana Road following verified intelligence. Ground measurements conducted with local revenue officials revealed that illegal cannabis (ganja) was being cultivated over 0.23 hectares of land. The police uprooted and seized 139 green cannabis plants weighing 26.215 kg. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the landowner, Prateek Chaturvedi.
Drugs Sold Over Tea and Clothes: Drug peddlers in Rajasthan are adopting deceptive fronts to evade the police. In Chohtan, Barmer, a joint raid at ‘Marwar Tea & Cafe’ caught the owner, Kaluram Bishnoi, red-handed with 1.806 kg of poppy husk and 75 grams of manufactured opium. Similarly, in Barmer’s Dhanau town, police raided ‘Ramesh Vastra Bhandar,’ a clothing store run by a history-sheeter named Thansingh Jat. A thorough search of the shop led to the recovery of 448 grams of poppy husk.
Smugglers Nabbed in Udaipur and Nagaur: The crackdown continued in Udaipur, where Savina police intercepted two youthsāNawazish Khan and Sanjay Loharāwho tried to flee on a scooty upon spotting the cops. A search of the two-wheeler’s boot yielded nearly half a kilogram of marijuana. Meanwhile, in Nagaur’s Gogelav village, the police chased down a numberless Bolero SUV and arrested a notorious smuggler, Nathuram Jat, recovering 7 grams of smack. Nathuram had previously been jailed by the ANTF earlier this year.
Bravehearts to be Honored; Appeal to the Public: Commending the spectacular success of the operations, ANTF IG Vikas Kumar praised the exceptional groundwork laid by the local police stations. He announced that all police officers and personnel involved in this mega-operation will be officially honored at the ANTF Headquarters.
