Massive Crackdown by Rajasthan Police: Over 87,000 Vehicles Penalized for Black Films and Illegal Hooters in 10 Days

In a major push for road safety and to curb the blatant display of VIP culture, the Rajasthan Police has launched a rigorous statewide crackdown against traffic violators. Acting on the directives of the Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma, authorities have penalized a staggering 87,945 vehicles within just 10 days of a special intensive drive. The campaign primarily targets vehicles sporting illegal black films on windows, unauthorized red-blue beacons, blaring hooters, and defective or non-compliant number plates.

Statewide Blockades and Strict Enforcement
Supervised by DG (Traffic) Anil Paliwal, this intensive campaign has sent a strong message to rule-breakers across the state. Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), Dr. B.L. Meena, stated that police teams have set up rigorous blockades across all districts and major intersections. On Saturday aloneāthe 10th day of the driveāpolice intercepted 8,750 vehicles statewide and initiated strict legal and punitive actions against the offenders.
Major Offenses and Statistical Breakdown
During the campaign, the police heavily targeted vehicles defying the Supreme Court’s ban on tinted windows. The statistical breakdown of the drive from June 4 to June 13 reveals the massive scale of the enforcement:
- Black Film (Tinted Windows): 33,918 vehicles
- Illegal/Defective Number Plates: 22,630 vehicles
- Unauthorized Texts, Caste Names, or Symbols: 12,094 vehicles
- Illegal Structural Modifications (Body/Chassis): 8,490 vehicles
- Unauthorized Red-Blue Beacons, Flashers, and Hooters: 6,097 vehicles
- Noise Pollution (Pressure/Air Horns): 4,716 vehicles
Zero Tolerance for Rule-Breakers
ADG Dr. Meena sternly warned that flaunting caste names, official designations, or organizational affiliations on vehicles, along with using hooters to show off influence, is a punishable offense. He made it clear that any violation of traffic rules will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and this mega-campaign will continue with even greater severity in the coming days. The traffic police department has strongly appealed to all vehicle owners and drivers to operate their vehicles in strict accordance with the law to ensure the safety of everyone on the roads.
