Netanyahu’s major announcement from the UN platform: The fight against Hamas in Gaza must end

United Nations General Assembly ( UNGA / Israel : Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took a tough stance on Gaza and Hamas in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday. He stated unequivocally, “We must end this fight against Hamas in Gaza.” Netanyahu’s statement is being seen as a declaration of Hamas’s complete elimination.

This statement comes at a time of mounting international criticism of Israel’s Gaza policy. Representatives from several countries left the General Assembly chamber in protest as soon as the speech began. Meanwhile, some representatives were seen applauding Netanyahu’s remarks, causing the assembly to appear divided.

During Netanyahu’s speech, voices of protest were heard in the chamber, but he continued his address without interruption. He appeared confident and firmly articulated his views.

During his address, Netanyahu displayed a large poster-like image with the words “THE CURSE” written on it. He marked specific areas on this map-like image with a large marker. He then displayed a QR code affixed to his jacket and a board containing multiple-choice questions (MCQs). He showed and read these to the audience on stage.

During his speech, Netanyahu also repeatedly praised former US President Donald Trump. He described Trump as a symbol of leadership that supported and strengthened Israel’s policies in the Middle East.

While Netanyahu’s speech elicited strong reactions, it also became clear that Israel is in no mood to yield to any pressure regarding the ongoing military operation in Gaza.
