
In a major crackdown on the rising incidents of mobile snatching in Jaipur, the Sanganer Sadar police have arrested two notorious criminals, Dilip Mahawar and Neeraj Mahawar, who were targeting laborers and workers in the city. The duo used to snatch mobile phones and sell them in rural areas outside Jaipur.
How the case was cracked:
On June 13, a victim named Faiz (21), who works at JC Home Tex company in Sitapura, was on his way to work around 8:20 AM. While talking to his mother on the phone, two men on a black Splendor Plus bike snatched his mobile and fled. He reported the incident at Sanganer Sadar police station.
Investigation and Arrest:
The police analyzed nearby CCTV footage and with the help of informants, detained the suspects. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime. A total of 7 stolen mobile phones, including the victim’s, were recovered from their possession.
Ongoing Police Action:
DCP South Digant Anand stated that special teams have been formed across police stations to curb mobile snatching cases. Currently, police are conducting raids to nab other members of the gang.
