In a crackdown on drug trafficking, the Kudgaon police in Karauli district have arrested a smuggler and seized 5.399 kilograms of illegal doda chura (poppy husk). The action was taken under the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign led by Superintendent of Police Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Station Officer Chanchal Sharma raided the Gokulpur road near a small bridge. The accused, identified as Radheshyam from Kudgaon, was caught red-handed.

Along with the narcotics, police recovered ₹30,300 in cash suspected to be proceeds from drug sales, and an electronic weighing scale. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further interrogation is underway to uncover the supply chain and others involved in the racket.
