Rajasthan Labor Inspector Suspended

Jaipur. The administration has taken a strict stance following major negligence in the operation of government schemes in the Karauli district of Rajasthan. The Labor Department has suspended two labor inspectors with immediate effect on charges of dereliction of duty and irregularities. Along with the suspension, departmental disciplinary proceedings have also been initiated against both officials.

This stringent action was taken under the directives of Labor Commissioner Mrs. Pooja Kumari Parth. The department had been receiving complaints regarding delays in processing crucial applications related to worker welfare, which prevented eligible beneficiaries from availing the benefits of government schemes on time.

Recognizing the gravity of the matter, a preliminary investigation was conducted at a higher level, which confirmed prima facie negligence and non-compliance with prescribed administrative procedures. Prompted by these findings, the administration issued immediate suspension orders.

Names of the Suspended Officials

According to official information received from the Labor Department, the suspended officials include Labor Inspector Mr. Rajesh Kumar Meena and Labor Inspector Mr. Baldev Singh, both posted at the Office of the Labor Welfare Officer in Karauli. Both inspectors face serious allegations of shelving cases within their jurisdiction and failing to process them within the mandated timeframe.

Serious Irregularities in Scheme Implementation

The entire matter is linked to the ‘Shramik Shiksha evam Kaushal Yojana’ (Worker Education and Skill Scheme), operated by the Rajasthan Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. This scheme is designed for the educational and skill development of registered construction workers and their children.

The investigation revealed that multiple applications under this scheme were pending with the two inspectors. These cases were required to be resolved systematically and within a stipulated timeframe. The department considered this delay and laxity in processing the applications as a serious offense.

Zero Tolerance for Negligence: Labor Commissioner

Taking a tough stance on the issue, Labor Commissioner Mrs. Pooja Kumari Parth clarified that the department is fully committed to the welfare of workers. She emphasized that the benefits of state government public welfare schemes must reach the last person in line within the designated time limit.

“Any kind of negligence, irregularity, or laxity in the operation of schemes will not be tolerated. If any officer or employee is found apathetic towards their duties in the future, strict disciplinary action will be taken against them as per the rules.” — Mrs. Pooja Kumari Parth, Labor Commissioner

Conclusion

The suspension of the two labor inspectors in Karauli is a clear indicator that the Rajasthan Labor Department is enforcing strict accountability regarding the implementation of its schemes. This action will not only expedite the resolution of pending cases but also strengthen discipline within the government machinery, ensuring that poor and needy workers receive their rightful benefits on time.
