Jaipur Discom to Credit ₹95.42 Crore Interest to Consumers in July 2025 Bills

Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (Jaipur Discom) has announced a relief package for its 5.5 million domestic and commercial consumers. The discom will credit ₹95.42 crore as interest on consumers’ security deposits, which will be adjusted in the electricity bills for July 2025.

This decision follows the directives of the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC), which mandates discoms to collect a deposit equivalent to two months of average electricity consumption and pay annual interest on it at prevailing bank rates. For the financial year 2024-25, the interest rate has been fixed at 6.75%.

Interest Details on Bijli Mitra App

Managing Director Aarti Dogra stated that the interest details will be made available through the Bijli Mitra app. Additionally, consumers who have registered their email IDs will receive information via email as well.

In case of any discrepancy in the deposit amount shown on the bill, consumers can contact their local Assistant Engineer’s office for clarification.

Jaipur Discom has been crediting interest annually to ensure consumer deposits are not idle and generate financial benefit.
