Karauli– Rajasthan government has recently started Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan – Jan Abhiyan on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra i.e. on 5th June. Under this, Rajasthan government has proposed extensive water conservation works across the state. Under this campaign, Rajasthan government will do cleaning and repair work of water conservation means like ponds, ponds, ancient stepwells, rivers etc., awareness for water conservation, preparation of means for water conservation etc. Due to various geographical conditions, water problem always persists in many areas like Dang area of Karauli district of Rajasthan. Due to continuous decline in groundwater level, this problem takes its terrible form during summer days. Water conservation is very important to overcome the water problem.
According to the data of last few years of Ground Water Resources Department of Rajasthan Government, the water level of Dang area, district Karauli is continuously falling, that is, it will not be an exaggeration to say that this area has reached dry zone (drought). If the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan – Jan Abhiyan run by the Rajasthan government has to prove to be really effective in this area, then first of all, means for water conservation will have to be prepared in this area. If we look at the last few years, then the rainfall in this area has always been more than the average, that is, it can be said that there has been good rainfall, but without the means of water conservation like dams, ponds etc., the rain water flows away in vain, due to which the water problem remains as it is.
Dams will have to be built –
Under the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan – Jan Abhiyan of the Rajasthan government, other dams will have to be built in this area along with the expansion of the Ninder dam, for which space is available in the areas of Chandelipura – Navalpura, Bugdar, Langra, Gadi village, Batda, Bhakri, Gurdah, Bahadur Pur etc. Gram Panchayats, where there is inflow of water and there is also a suitable place for building a dam.
The Chambal river which is flowing very close to this region for hundreds of years, in which water flows away uselessly during the rainy season. If the facilities made for water conservation in this region are not filled due to less rainfall, then arrangements should be made to fill them with the water flowing uselessly in Chambal during the rainy season. If there are facilities for water conservation in this region, then certainly water will be conserved and if water is conserved, then the water level of this region will rise. There will never be a problem of water in this region due to the increase in water level.
