Jaipur Police have arrested a 32-year-old man, Daulatram Saini, for a highly calculated ATM fraud case in the Vishwakarma area. The accused, who previously worked as an ATM service technician, used his technical expertise to exploit ATM mechanisms for personal gain.
According to DCP (West) Amit Kumar, Daulatram used a master key to open the cash dispensing tray inside the SBI ATM at Road No. 17. He then applied cello tape to the cash outlet to prevent cash from being dispensed even after the withdrawal process was completed.
Unsuspecting customers would attempt to withdraw money, receive a confirmation message on their phones, but get no cash. Once they left to report the issue, Daulatram would re-enter the ATM, remove the tape, and collect the unclaimed cash.
Police recovered the master key used in the operation and have launched further investigation into the scope of similar crimes.
This incident raises serious concerns about ATM security and the insider risks in financial systems.
