Jaipur Police arrested two armed suspects on Thursday evening following a swift operation in the Jawahar Nagar area. Acting on a tip-off from the CST about suspected chain snatchers on a motorcycle, the police had set up a checkpoint near Teela No. 3.

As the suspects approached, they tried to flee upon noticing the police. They abandoned their motorcycle and attempted to escape by climbing a nearby hill. During the chase, both suspects fell and sustained injuries to their legs. They were later provided medical treatment.

The accused have been identified as Suraj Kumar Yogi (30), a resident of Piloda, Sawai Madhopur, currently residing in Luniyawas, Jaipur, and Mukesh Kumar (28), a native of Nagar, Deeg in Bharatpur.

During a search, police recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from their possession. After medical treatment, both individuals were formally arrested under the Arms Act.

Authorities are currently interrogating the accused to determine their involvement in other criminal cases and the origin of the illegal weapon.
