New Delhi/Islamabad: A shocking and tragic news has emerged from Pakistan, where the country’s own Air Force launched an airstrike on its own civilians in the middle of the night. The incident reportedly occurred around 2 a.m. between Sunday and Monday, when Pakistani fighter jets bombed the Tirah Valley area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to local media reports, the attack targeted the village of Matre Dara, where eight LS-6 guided bombs were dropped simultaneously. More than 30 people have been confirmed dead in this horrific attack, including children and women. Dozens of injured people have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Images and videos from the aftermath of the incident are rapidly going viral on social media, showing piles of debris, destroyed houses, and bodies. Rescue operations are underway, and the search for those trapped under the rubble is ongoing. It is feared that the death toll may rise further.
So far, there has been no official statement from the Pakistani government or military regarding this airstrike, making the situation even more mysterious and serious.
Deteriorating internal situation
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region has long been a hotbed of unrest and insurgency. The government’s hold here is considered extremely weak. The Pakistani army has periodically launched military operations to combat terrorist activities and separatist forces, but this time the operation targeted civilians.—
