Maithili Thakur Join BJP : Renowned folk singer Maithili Thakur formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a get-together held at the party office in Patna. Several others joined the party along with her. Recently, speculation about her entry into politics has been rife, and now that news has come true.
According to party sources, Maithili Thakur is likely to be fielded as a candidate from the Alinagar seat in Darbhanga in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
