KVS Samvida Sathi Recruitment

NEW DELHI: Here is excellent news for candidates aspiring to teach in Kendriya Vidyalayas. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has launched a new, centralized online platform called the “KVS Samvida Sathi Portal” for the recruitment of contractual and temporary staff for the 2026-27 academic session. Through this portal, KVS is inviting applications for various teaching and non-teaching posts, including PGT, TGT, PRT, Computer Instructors, Counselors, and Sports Coaches across India.

Gone are the days when candidates had to visit individual school websites to find vacancies and fill out separate offline forms. Under this newly introduced system, applicants can create a single online profile to apply for walk-in interviews at multiple Kendriya Vidyalayas. Read on to explore the complete details regarding eligibility criteria, age limits, the selection process, and step-by-step application instructions.

Key Highlights of this News:

  • Centralized Portal: KVS introduces the ‘Samvida Sathi’ portal for hassle-free, single-profile registration for contractual hiring.
  • Multiple Job Roles: Vacancies are open for PGT, TGT, PRT, Special Educators, Counselors, and Computer Instructors.
  • Direct Selection: No written examinations will be conducted; selection is strictly based on walk-in interviews and document verification.
  • Application Mode: Interested candidates must register and apply online via the official portal at samvida-sathi.kvs.gov.in.

What is the KVS Samvida Sathi Portal and Its Benefits?

Previously, applicants had to track individual KV websites for contractual vacancy advertisements, making the process lengthy and tedious. To streamline this, the KVS IT Service Cell developed the ‘Samvida Sathi Portal’.

Major benefits include:

  • Single Profile Creation: Candidates only need to register and enter their educational and professional details once.
  • Ease of Application: Applicants can use this single profile to apply for contractual vacancies in up to three preferred Kendriya Vidyalayas.
  • Efficient Hiring for Schools: School administrations can quickly access the database of registered candidates and invite qualified individuals for walk-in interviews whenever a vacancy arises.

Age Limit and Eligibility Criteria

According to the official KVS guidelines, candidates applying for contractual teaching positions must be at least 18 years old. To accommodate experienced educators, the maximum age limit is capped at 65 years. Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, and PwD) will be applicable as per standard government norms.

Educational Qualifications Required

The academic requirements vary depending on the specific post applied for:

  • Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): A Master’s Degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 50% marks, along with a B.Ed. degree.
  • Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT): A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant subject combination. Candidates must also possess a B.Ed. degree and must have qualified CTET (Paper-2) conducted by CBSE.
  • Primary Teacher (PRT): 12th standard (Intermediate) pass with at least 50% marks, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / JBT / BTC). Qualifying CTET (Paper-1) is mandatory.
  • Computer Instructor: Candidates must hold a B.Tech / BCA / MCA / PGDCA degree, or an equivalent qualification in Computer Science.

Selection Process: No Written Exam

The recruitment process for contractual staff is entirely transparent and direct. Candidates will not be required to clear any written examination.

  1. Application Shortlisting: Schools will review the applications submitted on the portal based on qualifications and experience.
  2. Walk-in-Interview: Shortlisted candidates will receive an invitation to attend a personal interview at the respective Kendriya Vidyalaya campus.
  3. Document Verification: On the day of the interview, candidates must present all original educational and professional certificates, along with self-attested photocopies, for verification.
