Karauli: District Collector Hosts ‘Ratri Chaupal’ in Lediya; Issues 15-Day Deadline to Resolve Public Grievances

KARAULI (RAJASTHAN): As part of the initiative to bring administration to the doorsteps of the common man, a ‘Ratri Chaupal’ (Night Public Hearing) was organized on Thursday at Lediya Gram Panchayat in the Sapotra Panchayat Samiti. Presiding over the session, District Collector Akshay Godara listened to the grievances of the rural population with empathy and issued stern instructions to officials for time-bound resolution.
Grassroots Issues Take Center Stage
During the public hearing, a large number of villagers presented their problems, primarily focusing on essential services and infrastructure. Key issues raised included:
- Jal Jeevan Mission: Villagers expressed concerns over roads left damaged after the installation of pipelines. The Collector ordered the immediate repair of these stretches.
- Water and Power Supply: Demands were made for regular drinking water supply and the expedited processing of new electricity connections, especially considering the summer season.
- Multi-Departmental Cases: Grievances related to the Medical, Revenue, and Social Welfare departments were also submitted, including matters concerning pensions and land records.
A 15-Day Ultimatum for Officials
Taking a proactive stance against administrative delays, District Collector Akshay Godara set a strict 15-day deadline for officials to resolve all pending cases received during the ‘Ratri Chaupal’ and those listed on the Rajasthan Sampark Portal.
Addressing the gathered officials, he stated:
“The primary goal of the administration is to provide immediate relief to the public. It is the personal responsibility of every departmental officer to ensure that no citizen has to make unnecessary visits to government offices for their legitimate rights.”

The presence of senior officials at the venue allowed for on-the-spot deliberations and instructions for several cases. Key officials in attendance included:
- Hemraj Paridwal, Additional District Collector (ADC)
- Lakhan Singh, CEO of Zila Parishad
- Pankaj Badgurjar, Sapotra Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)
