Karauli: Case Registered Under POCSO & SC/ST Act After Molestation Allegations Involving Three Minors

Karauli: A shocking incident of alleged molestation and caste-based atrocities involving three minor girls has surfaced area in Karauli district. According to the information received, the incident occurred on the afternoon of April 27, 2026, around 3:00 PM. The three minor girls had gone to a shop to purchase snacks. It is alleged that the accused, identified a resident, lured the children with a small sum of money and took them to the first floor of his shop.
The complaint alleges that the accused engaged in obscene acts with the minors and used derogatory caste-based slurs against them. Upon learning of the ordeal on April 29, the families of the victims approached the police to seek justice.
Legal Action and Sections Applied
The police have taken a serious view of the matter and registered a case under the following legal provisions:
- Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS): Sections 74 and 75(2).
- POCSO Act: Sections 7 and 8 (Sexual assault).

Given the sensitivity of the case involving caste-based discrimination and crimes against children, the investigation has been handed over to RPS Officer Dulichand of the SC/ST Cell.

The incident has sparked outrage among local social organizations. Rinku Kumar Jatav, spokesperson for the Jatav Samaj Sudhar Samiti, Karauli, has formally written to the District Superintendent of Police (SP), demanding the immediate arrest of the accused.
In his letter, Jatav highlighted the need for:

- A time-bound investigation and early filing of the charge sheet.
- Providing mandatory financial assistance and police protection to the victimized families.
“This is a grave matter involving sexual offenses against minors and caste-based atrocities against Dalit children. The police must act with urgency to ensure the safety of the community,” stated Rinku Jatav, while also urging the media and public to maintain the confidentiality of the victims’ identities as required by law.
