Journalist Laxmi Narayan Singh stabbed to death in Prayagraj, one accused injured in encounter and arrested

journalist Laxmi Narayan Singh Murder Case : A tragic incident unfolded in the Civil Lines area of Prayagraj on Thursday night. Well-known journalist Laxmi Narayan Singh alias Pappu (54) was stabbed more than 20 times by unidentified assailants. The incident occurred near the Harsh Hotel, where the assailants repeatedly attacked him in the stomach and other parts of his body.

Seriously injured, Singh was immediately rushed to the trauma center at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital (SRN), but he died during treatment. Singh was a resident of Shakuntala Kunj Colony in the Dhoomanganj area.

Police took swift action

Senior police officers arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the incident. Additional Police Commissioner Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma stated that several teams were formed to search for the criminals. Acting swiftly, the police injured and arrested one of the accused, Vishal, during an encounter.

Vishal was shot in the leg during the encounter and was admitted to SRN Hospital for treatment.

Accused with criminal tendencies, used to extort money from street vendors

Police investigation has revealed that accused Vishal and his accomplice, Sahil, both have criminal tendencies. They used to extort money from street vendors in the area. Police are now conducting raids in search of the other accused, Sahil.

The brutal murder of journalist Laxmi Narayan Singh has sent shockwaves through the media. Local journalists have condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.

Police assured justice

Additional Police Commissioner Dr. Sharma said,

β€œThe main accused has been arrested; the other perpetrator will also be apprehended soon. No culprit will be spared.”
