The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has appointed a new Chief Regional Manager (CRM) for the Jaipur region after a gap of nearly two and a half years. Senior officer from the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), Mukesh Saini, has been given the responsibility to oversee operations in this key region.

Mukesh Saini’s Background and Achievements

An IRTS officer from the 2008 batch, Mukesh Saini has previously held several key positions within Indian Railways, including in planning, commercial operations, and training roles. His work in cities like Ajmer, Jaipur, and Udaipur has been notable.

He was also honored with the prestigious MR Award by the Railway Minister for his efforts in boosting revenue — a rare recognition among railway officers.

New Role at IRCTC

As the CRM of IRCTC’s Jaipur region, his role will include managing onboard catering services, ticketing systems, and tourism-related projects. This move is expected to improve operational efficiency in the region where the CRM post had been vacant for a significant time.

Further Movements Expected

With Mukesh Saini’s transition, his former position as Deputy CCM (PS/PM) is now open. According to sources, a few eligible candidates are under consideration, and the final decision will be taken after internal discussions.
