Jaipur: In a shocking betrayal of trust, a robbery was carried out by none other than a friend of the victim in Muhana area of Jaipur. The accused tied up the family and looted cash and gold jewelry from the house.

Police have arrested two accused – Akash Yadav from Bari (Dholpur) and Imran from Kotwali (Dholpur). The third accused, Bhura Pandit alias Arpit Sharma, is still absconding.

Robbery Planned After Friendly Visit

According to officials, Arpit Sharma visited the victim Naveen Sen’s house pretending his father was seriously ill and needed money. During this visit, he scoped the house and planned the robbery.

Details of the Crime:

  • On 29th May, two men entered the house with covered faces.
  • They threatened the family at gunpoint, tied their hands and feet, and laid them face-down on the bed.
  • Using the cupboard keys, they stole cash, four gold rings, a mangalsutra, and other jewelry.

Breakthrough Through CCTV

Police reviewed over 700 CCTV footages from nearby areas and tracked the accused’s route. Based on this, two men were arrested from Dholpur, while the third is still at large.

  • Arpit Sharma has over two dozen criminal cases against him.
  • Akash Yadav has previously served jail time in nearly 12 serious offenses.

Police teams are now conducting raids to apprehend the third suspect.
