An illegal mining operation has come to light in Pathrali village of Ferozepur Jhirka block, Nuh district, Haryana. On June 27, a portion of the Aravalli hills was blasted from the Rajasthan side, causing the debris to fall into Haryana. Acting on a complaint by the Assistant Mining Engineer, the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, Nuh police station, registered an FIR against Rajasthan leaseholder Pawan Jain. Additionally, a fine of ₹7 lakh has been imposed on two leaseholders.

The complaint was initially submitted by the village sarpanch to the SDM on June 27. On June 28, a joint team of SDM, Mining Department, Enforcement Wing, and Forest Department conducted a site inspection. The investigation revealed 1200 cubic meters of illegal mining activity.

Ferozepur Jhirka SDM Laxmi Narayan confirmed that illegal mining was conducted using heavy machinery and dumpers by leaseholders operating in Rajasthan who encroached into Haryana’s territory. A case has been filed against Pawan Jain, and a fine has been imposed on Pawan Jain and Sajid.

The SDM added that identification of other culprits is underway and strict action will be taken against all involved.
