Hanumangarh, Rajasthan – Patients and their relatives visiting the Community Health Center (CHC) Pilibanga, a subdivision in Hanumangarh district (Rajasthan), have been facing significant problems with toilet facilities for some time now. The public toilet on the hospital premises is in a dilapidated condition. The government and administration make tall claims about cleanliness, but the ground reality at the Pilibanga CHC exposes these claims.
Which responsible officer/department is responsible for the maintenance of this public toilet, built at a cost of millions of rupees? The Community Health Center or the municipal administration? Visitors have no information about who is responsible for cleanliness.
There are no doors and no water supply.
The condition of this hospital toilet is so deplorable that neither the doors are secure nor is there any water supply. Due to the lack of doors and water, female patients and their families are facing the most embarrassment and inconvenience. There’s no water in the toilet, leaving it filthy and rotting. Currently, these toilets are unusable.

Community Health Center Toilets Spreading Disease
Due to poor sanitation, an unbearable stench permeates the entire premises. The filth presents a constant threat of infectious diseases. Patients seeking treatment say they come here to heal, but the state of the toilets makes them fear they might become more ill.
The condition of the well-maintained toilets adjacent to this public toilet is also deplorable.
Right in the eyes of those responsible, yet why is it ignored?
Surprisingly, despite the hospital administration and relevant officials passing by daily, no attention is being paid to this issue. It is reported that verbal complaints have been made several times regarding the hospital’s unsanitary conditions, but the situation remains the same.
When the National Journalists’ Association received information from some aware individuals regarding this serious problem, journalists associated with the organization are highlighting the deplorable condition of the public toilet.
Through the media, they are demanding that the concerned authorities/departments resolve this serious problem as soon as possible. Now it remains to be seen whether the concerned authorities/departments will pay any attention to improving the deplorable condition of the public toilet, or will the Swachh Bharat Mission continue to be flouted in this manner?
