Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. As directed by the state government, a meeting of the task force formed to effectively monitor mineral development, environmental protection, and illegal mining in the district was held on Tuesday in the DoIT video conference room, chaired by District Collector Alok Ranjan.

Subdivision and district-level officials joined the meeting via video conferencing.

District Collector Alok Ranjan announced that a special campaign will be launched until January 15th to prevent illegal mining, illegal gravel transportation, and illegal stone excavation in the district.

As part of the campaign, joint teams of police, mineral, and forest department officials will be formed to take intensive action. Seizures and strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal mining, as per the law.

He directed all subdivision officers to convene meetings of the monitoring committees formed at the subdivision level, conduct drone photography of the relevant areas, and take effective action against illegal mining cases.

The District Collector also directed that checkpoints be established in three areas in the Begu area, one in Gangarar, and other sensitive areas, including Rashmi and Kapasan, to prevent the illegal transportation of mineral gravel.

In the meeting, District Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi stated that the police administration would fully cooperate in this state-level campaign. He directed that necessary arrangements be made at the checkpoints to be established and that intensive investigations be conducted.

Mining Engineer Ehtesham Siddiqui presented detailed information regarding the areas vulnerable to illegal mining in the district and the action to be taken in the campaign.

Deputy Forest Conservator Rahul Jhanjhadia, Additional District Collector Ramchandra Khatik, District Transport Officer, Mining Engineer Chittorgarh, Assistant Mining Engineer Nimbahera were present in the meeting, and all subdivisional officers joined via video conference.
