Bharatpur (Bayana).
After the massive Gurjar Mahapanchayat on June 8, the situation escalated as protestors reached the railway tracks and blocked the Mathura–Sawai Madhopur passenger train. The Delhi-Mumbai railway line remained blocked for two hours. Attempts were also made to damage the railway tracks.
An FIR was lodged on June 9 at Bayana Sadar Police Station by SHO Krishnavir Singh under the Railway Act and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
Statement by Vijay Bainsla:
Vijay Bainsla, president of the Gurjar Reservation Sangharsh Samiti, clarified that “The Mahapanchayat concluded peacefully. After that, some unaware youths were misled by social media influencers and taken to the railway tracks.”
He added, “The society is fighting for the future of these youth, and it is unfortunate that they are now facing FIRs. I request the government to show leniency, especially towards REET and other competitive exam candidates.”
REET Aspirants Deny Involvement:
REET aspirant Narwan Singh Meharawar stated, “We were not involved in blocking trains. We were present to hear the government’s draft and express our disappointment on the stage, but none of us went to the railway track.”
RPF Has 300 Videos of the Incident:
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) reported that they have around 300 video clips showing protestors damaging the railway tracks and train engines. The identification process of those involved is underway using these clips.
