A significant opportunity has opened up for students in Karauli district as the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has started the admission process for government and aided hostels for the academic session 2026–27. A total of 17 hostels are available in the district, including 15 government-run and 2 aided institutions.

According to District Probation and Social Welfare Officer Shravan Kumar Meena, interested students can submit their applications online until May 31, 2026. The entire application process has been made digital to ensure ease and accessibility for applicants.

One of the major benefits of these hostels is that selected students will receive free accommodation along with meals, uniforms, and other educational support. This initiative is especially helpful for students from economically weaker backgrounds who need support to continue their studies.

Applicants can apply through the SSO portal using the SJMS system. Each student is allowed to select up to three hostel options based on their preference, which increases their chances of selection.

To be eligible, the student must be a native of Rajasthan, with a family annual income below ₹8 lakh, and must have secured at least 40% marks in the previous class. Admissions will be granted based on merit and preference.

The application process is linked with Jan Aadhaar, ensuring transparency and streamlined verification. Students are advised to complete their applications before the deadline to take full advantage of this opportunity.
