Review of Budget Announcements and Government Schemes: Additional Chief Secretary Issues Directives for Effective Implementation

JAIPUR: A high-level review meeting was held to accelerate the implementation of schemes under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Rajasthan Government. Chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Mr. Dinesh Kumar, the meeting conducted an in-depth review of the progress regarding budget announcements and various public welfare programs.

Emphasis on Effective Implementation

During the meeting held at the Secretariat, Mr. Dinesh Kumar assessed the progress of budget announcements for the years 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27, alongside key financial initiatives such as the ‘Schematic Budget’ and ‘SNA-Sparsh’. The discussion focused on several critical areas:

  • Expeditious Disposal of Pending Tasks: Mr. Kumar directed officials to formulate a special action plan for the time-bound resolution of pending files on the ‘RajKaj’ portal and unresolved legislative assembly questions.
  • Monitoring of Budget Announcements: To ensure that the Chief Minister’s announcements are implemented on the ground in a timely manner, he instructed departmental officers to hold regular periodic review meetings.
  • Financial and Administrative Coordination: Discussing administrative issues related to central government assistance funds and land allotment, he emphasized making the administrative processes more transparent and efficient.

Progress Deemed Satisfactory

Expressing satisfaction with the functioning of the departments, the Additional Chief Secretary noted that the implementation of all schemes is currently on the right track. He directed officials to establish better coordination with the Directorate of Special Abled Persons, Anuja Nigam, and the Department of Child Empowerment to make services more accessible to the public.

The meeting was attended by the Commissioner of the Directorate of Special Abled Persons Mr. Iqbal Khan, Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Lalit Kumar, and other senior departmental officers. The government maintains a firm stance that the benefits of public welfare schemes must reach the last person in the queue, for which administrative proactivity is essential.
