In a shocking incident from Jaipur, YouTuber Sachin Singh aka ‘Lappu Sachin’ and six of his associates were arrested after a viral video showed them distributing free liquor on the sacred Hindu festival of Nirjala Ekadashi. The act, conducted publicly on the streets of Mansarovar, was deemed offensive to religious sentiments.

What Happened?
On June 7, Lappu Sachin and his friends arrived in an SUV loaded with cartons of liquor bottles. The video shows them calling out “Free-Free” while handing alcohol and snacks to random passersby, autorickshaw drivers, and travelers. The video was shared by Sachin himself on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook — going viral within hours.

Police React Swiftly
Jaipur Police took the matter seriously, citing the potential to hurt religious sentiments. Based on the vehicle’s registration number, all seven individuals were tracked and arrested with help from the cyber cell.

The arrested include Sachin Singh aka Lappu Sachin, Pradeep Kadwasra, Vikas Verma, Abhishek Nirmal, Sunil Kumar, Aditya Mahariya, and Ankit. All have publicly apologized, claiming their intention wasn’t to hurt religious beliefs but simply to gain popularity online.

Social Media Fame Was the Motive
During questioning, the accused revealed they were aiming to increase followers on social media. Lappu Sachin has 1.9 million followers on Instagram and nearly 699,000 subscribers on YouTube.

This isn’t Lappu Sachin’s first brush with controversy. His social media accounts previously featured reels involving disputes with other influencers, including public apologies at Jaipur’s World Trade Park.
