On Sunday, November 2, under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian team won the Women’s World Cup for the first time, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final. With this victory, Harmanpreet became the fourth Indian captain to lift the World Cup trophy. Kapil Dev, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma have previously achieved this feat.
