United States –The US military has taken Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife hostage. Both have been taken out of the country. Reports of a US attack on Venezuela surfaced on Saturday morning, but it was not confirmed that the attack was carried out by the US.
Venezuelan military bases were targeted in the attack. Hours later, the US President announced the Venezuelan President’s capture. Meanwhile, Venezuela has demanded proof that Maduro and his wife are alive. According to an AP report, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said that Maduro and his wife are missing. “We are demanding proof that they are alive.”
US President Donald Trump posted on Truth
Social that Nicolas Maduro has been captured following a “massive attack” by the US on Venezuela. He also stated that Maduro’s wife has also been captured and taken out of the country. While confirmation of the explosions being a US airstrike was awaited, a CBS reporter reported that US President Donald Trump had ordered strikes against several locations, including military bases, inside Venezuela.

Following this, on Saturday (January 3), the US first carried out airstrikes against Venezuelan military bases, after which the US President and his wife were taken hostage.
