On the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dashahara, the Vande Ganga Jal Swavalamban Fortnight was inaugurated in Bhusawar under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The program was held in the presence of Sub-Divisional Officer Radheshyam Meena and Municipal Chairperson Sunita Prakash Jatav.
During the event, an ancient Kunda reservoir was worshipped, and more than 100 trees were planted collectively by officials and citizens near the Sairki reservoir. Participants pledged to take care of the trees and water them regularly.
Municipal Executive Officer Suresh Chand Meena emphasized the importance of water conservation, highlighting the challenges farmers face due to scanty rainfall and irregular monsoon.
Sub-Divisional Officer Meena outlined the main objectives of the fortnight, which include renovation of water structures, reducing water pollution, environmental protection awareness, groundwater recharge, and promoting efficient water usage.
Municipal Vice-Chairperson Dheeraj Pandey urged participants to reduce plastic use and pledged to keep Bhusawar clean. Tulsi plants were also distributed among attendees.
This initiative aims to boost public awareness about water conservation and environmental protection.
