Vaishnavi Sharma – 20-year-old Vaishnavi Sharma made her international debut in the first match against Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. She conceded 16 runs in four overs but went wicketless. India scored 122 runs in the match, securing a resounding 8-wicket victory.
Vaishnavi Sharma, speaking to reporters after the match, said,
“I am not at all disappointed by the lack of wickets. I am happy that I was able to execute my strategy well. There are still four matches left to be played.”
Vaishnavi Sharma said that she was a little nervous before playing her first match, but listening to the national anthem helped her gain confidence.
