Uttar Pradesh witnessed a noticeable weather shift starting April 7, as thunderstorms, rainfall, and strong winds began affecting several districts, especially in western UP. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts warning of unstable weather conditions.

On Tuesday, many parts of the state experienced cloudy skies and gusty winds, with chances of lightning and scattered rainfall. Western districts are expected to be the most impacted, with wind speeds strong enough to disrupt daily life and agricultural activities.

This sudden weather change is linked to a western disturbance combined with local moisture conditions. These factors often trigger pre-monsoon thunderstorms in northern India during April.

However, this relief is expected to be short-lived. Weather forecasts suggest that after April 8–10, rainfall activity will reduce significantly. Following this, temperatures across Uttar Pradesh are likely to rise sharply. By mid-April, several regions may experience heatwave-like conditions, with temperatures crossing 40–45°C.

This creates a mixed situation for residents and farmers. While the rain provides temporary relief from heat, it also poses risks. Farmers are particularly concerned, as strong winds and rain during the harvesting season can damage crops like wheat.

Urban areas may also face challenges such as waterlogging, traffic congestion, and power disruptions during thunderstorms. Authorities have advised people to stay indoors during severe weather and avoid unnecessary travel.

Looking forward, the weather pattern clearly indicates a transition phase. The current thunderstorms are part of pre-summer activity, but the coming days will mark the onset of extreme summer heat.

In conclusion, Uttar Pradesh is currently experiencing a brief spell of pleasant weather due to rain and storms, but residents should be prepared for a rapid increase in temperatures in the coming days.
