A fatal road accident occurred late Saturday night near Rajas village on the Jaipur-Nagaur Mega Highway in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district. Two young men lost their lives after their bike was hit by an overloaded salt-laden trailer near the Banwari Salt factory.

The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Kumar Rajput and Deepak Sharma, both residents of Pindya Chhoti Khatu village. They were returning from Jaipur to their village when the speeding trailer rammed into their bike and ran over them, causing instant death.

According to local sources, the road near the accident spot has a slope, which allegedly caused the trailer driver to lose control. The trailer overturned after the collision, and its front portion detached. Salt bags were scattered across the road, disrupting traffic for hours.

Nawan police and an ambulance arrived at the scene promptly. The bodies were taken to the sub-district hospital in Nawan for post-mortem. Based on a complaint filed by the families, police have registered a case against the truck driver under charges of rash and negligent driving.

DSP Arvind Bishnoi confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and strict action will be taken as per legal provisions against the driver found guilty.
