South Africa beat New Zealand to keep semi-final hopes alive

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 : The South African women’s cricket team put up a stellar performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup, defeating New Zealand by six wickets. This victory keeps South Africa’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive. The team, which was bowled out for 69 runs against England just a few days ago, delivered a strong performance on Monday, both in batting and bowling.

Opener Tazmin Brits scored a brilliant century of 101 runs, while Sune Luus made an unbeaten 81 to seal the match. Their partnership helped South Africa secure a convincing victory.

New Zealand, batting first, had established a strong position after losing three wickets for 184 runs, but their innings collapsed completely after that. The last seven wickets fell in a span of just 44 runs, leaving the team all out for 231 in 47.5 overs. In reply, South Africa won the match by scoring 234 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 40.5 overs.

This victory has taken South Africa one step closer to the semi-finals, while New Zealand has suffered a major setback with this defeat.
