Rajya Sabha Biennial Elections in Rajasthan: Electoral Process for Three Seats to Begin on June 1

Jaipur: The political landscape in Rajasthan is gearing up for another significant event as the process for the biennial elections for the Rajya Sabha is set to commence on Monday, June 1. According to official announcements, the election will determine the representatives for three vacant Rajya Sabha seats from the state.

For the smooth conduct of these biennial elections, Room No. 112 has been specially allocated within the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) premises.

Nomination Process and Guidelines Mr. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, the Returning Officer for the biennial elections by the elected members of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, shared detailed guidelines for the candidates.

He stated that the nomination papers can be submitted directly to the Returning Officer by the candidate or any of their proposers. This process will take place in Room No. 106 of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Candidates can file their nominations between 11:00 AM and 03:00 PM on designated working days, with the final deadline set for Monday, June 8.

Important Election Schedule at a Glance: To ensure transparency and a structured electoral process, the Election Commission has laid out the following schedule:

  • Commencement of Election Process: June 1
  • Last Date for Filing Nominations: June 8 (between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM)
  • Scrutiny of Nomination Papers: June 9 at 1:30 PM (Room No. 751, Ground Floor, Vidhan Sabha)
  • Last Date for Withdrawal of Candidature: June 11 (up to 3:00 PM)
  • Polling Date (If a contest occurs): June 18 (from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
  • Counting of Votes: June 18 at 5:00 PM

If the number of valid nominations exceeds the three available seats, voting will take place on June 18, and the results will be declared on the very same evening.
