JAIPUR. The Government of Rajasthan, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, officially released the ‘Rajasthan Employment Policy 2026’ in January 2026. This policy serves as a comprehensive roadmap to provide both employment and self-employment opportunities, aiming to create 1.5 million (15 lakh) jobs by March 31, 2029.
Mission 2029: Employment Targets
The policy strategically divides the job creation goals into three primary sectors:
- Government & Public Sector: Approximately 400,000 opportunities through direct recruitment and filling vacancies.
- Private Sector: 600,000 jobs through industrial growth in IT, Manufacturing, Tourism, and Defense.
- Self-Employment & MSMEs: 500,000 opportunities by fostering startups and supporting small enterprises.
Key Highlights and Provisions
- Vivekananda Employment Support Fund: A dedicated fund of ₹500 crore has been established to support skill development and provide initial financial aid to young entrepreneurs.
- EEMS 2.0 Portal: An AI-powered upgrade of the Rajasthan Employment Portal, allowing candidates to create digital profiles and connect directly with verified employers.
- Focus on Future Skills: Special training programs in modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Semiconductors, Green Energy, and Solar Technology.
- MYSY Integration: The policy is linked with the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana (MYSY), offering interest-free loans and margin money assistance for startups.
- Internship & Apprenticeship: Mandatory provisions for practical training in government departments and private companies to bridge the skill gap.
Eligibility and Priority
This policy is exclusively designed for the permanent residents of Rajasthan.
- Age Limit: Generally 18 to 45 years (relaxations as per government norms).
- Education: Benefits available for candidates ranging from 8th-grade pass to high-level professionals.
- Priority Groups: Special focus on women, SC/ST/OBC categories, specially-abled individuals, and rural youth.
