A disturbing incident has emerged from the Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, causing significant unrest in the region. In Kaelidih village, under the jurisdiction of the Fatanpur police station, unidentified miscreants vandalized a statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, leaving the local community in a state of shock and anger.

The Incident

On Tuesday morning, villagers discovered that the statue of Dr. Ambedkar had been desecrated, with its head severed and thrown onto the ground. The news of the vandalism spread rapidly, sparking immediate outrage among the local population. Supporters of the Bhim Army and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) gathered at the scene, staging protests and demanding swift action against those responsible. Some local residents have also leveled serious allegations against the village head (Gram Pradhan), claiming involvement in the incident.

Swift Action by Police and Administration

Recognizing the potential for escalating tensions, Fatanpur Station House Officer (SHO) Manish Tripathi, along with a significant police force, arrived at the site immediately. The authorities engaged with the protesting villagers, assuring them that the matter would be treated with the utmost seriousness.

To restore order and address the community’s hurt sentiments, the local administration promptly arranged for a new statue. It was installed with full honors, and following a formal floral tribute, the situation began to return to normalcy.

Ongoing Investigation and Security Deployment

Police have stated that additional security forces have been deployed in the village to maintain peace and order. Investigations are currently underway to identify the culprits, and authorities are questioning local residents to gather leads. The administration has issued a firm statement, assuring the public that those responsible for the vandalism will face strict legal consequences.
