Ahemdabad Plane Crash : Due to the demise of Gujarat’s former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, the state government has declared a one-day state mourning on June 16, 2025 (Sunday). During this period, the national flag will remain at half-mast on all government buildings across the state. Vijay Rupani’s last rites will be performed on Sunday in his hometown Rajkot, with several senior leaders, ministers, and common citizens in attendance.

In his political career, Vijay Rupani served as a dedicated leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and held several important positions in Gujarat. He served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from August 2016 to September 2021, during which he accelerated various social, industrial, and infrastructure-related projects.

The state government has announced that in his memory, all government events will be conducted with simplicity, and state mourning protocols will be followed at public gatherings. Political and social organizations across the state are paying tribute to Rupani.
