Nawazuddin Siddiqui Says Daughter Shora’s Honest Criticism of His Dancing ‘Destroyed My Confidence’

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently opened up about a funny yet personal side of his family life, revealing how his daughter Shora often criticizes his dancing skills and honestly tells him to stop dancing altogether.
Known for his powerful performances in films like Gangs of Wasseypur and many other critically acclaimed projects, Nawazuddin shared that while audiences appreciate his acting, his daughter is not impressed by one particular talent — his dance moves.
During a recent interview, the actor said that daughters are often very honest with their fathers, and Shora is no different. He explained that although she has not watched many of his films, she does not hesitate to comment on his dancing whenever she gets the chance.
Nawazuddin said that Shora may have secretly watched Gangs of Wasseypur, but according to him, she mainly focuses on pointing out how bad he is at dancing. He shared in a lighthearted tone that she keeps asking him not to dance and tells him directly that he is not good at it.
The actor joked that her constant criticism has completely affected his confidence. He said she has “destroyed” his confidence when it comes to dancing, and now he feels much less confident whenever he has to perform dance sequences.

Despite that, Nawazuddin also added that not everything needs to be perfect. He believes some people simply dance for fun, and he still wants to enjoy the moment rather than worry too much about perfection.
Apart from the fun family story, Nawazuddin also spoke about his daughter’s growing interest in acting. He revealed that his 16-year-old daughter Shora is passionate about performing arts and wants to explore acting seriously in the future.
According to him, she personally went and joined acting training classes because of her own interest and dedication. However, he also made it clear that education remains the priority, and any decision about joining the film industry will happen only after she completes her studies.
In another conversation, Nawazuddin also addressed the issue of discrimination and beauty standards in Bollywood. He spoke about how actors and actresses, especially dark-skinned performers, often face unfair judgment based on appearance.
He explained that society often decides who fits the image of a lead actor based on outdated beauty standards, especially for women. According to him, beauty should not be controlled by fixed rules, and individuals should be free to define it for themselves.
The actor believes that while Bollywood has changed in many ways, issues like selective discrimination and appearance-based bias still continue in the industry.
On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will next be seen in “Main Actor Nahin Hoon.” He is also part of Tumbbad 2, one of the most anticipated upcoming sequels in Bollywood, where he joins the cast in an important role.
With both his professional projects and his honest family moments making headlines, Nawazuddin continues to connect with fans through both his performances and his real-life simplicity.
