MHA launches TELL 14C

In a major move to bolster digital security, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has launched the “TELL 14C Chatbot” (9319301930). This WhatsApp-based platform is designed to dismantle cybercriminal networks by allowing citizens to report suspicious activities before a fraud takes place.

Mr. VK Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Cyber Crime) Rajasthan, emphasized that this initiative targets “pre-fraud” scenarios—situations where an individual was targeted by a scammer but did not lose any money.

Key Features of TELL 14C

  • Proactive Prevention: Reports help authorities block fraudulent bank accounts and mobile numbers immediately.
  • Direct Access: No apps required; reporting is done through a simple WhatsApp chat.
  • What to Report: Suspicious calls, fake links (URLs), phishing screenshots, or fraudulent social media handles.
  • User-Friendly: Supports multiple languages and allows for photo/screenshot uploads.
