Innovation will make internal security impenetrable: National Hackathon ‘SHIELD 1.0’ begins at CDTI Jaipur

Jaipur, Rajasthan – The two-day national hackathon, “SHIELD 1.0 – Smart Hackathon for Intelligence, Enforcement, Law & Defence,” was formally inaugurated on Monday at the Central Intelligence Training Institute (CDTI), Jaipur. Held on December 29 and 30, the program’s primary objective is to find effective technology-based solutions to modern challenges faced by intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

CDTI Director Dr. Amandeep Singh Kapoor stated that this hackathon brought together cyber experts, developers, and innovative students from across the country. The event primarily focused on critical topics such as digital forensics, cybercrime prevention, artificial intelligence, and surveillance intelligence.

Its goal is to develop advanced systems that can make India’s internal security and policing capabilities globally competitive and more robust.

Mr. Prashun Gupta, Deputy Director, NCRB, New Delhi, was the chief guest at the inaugural session of the program. In his address, he highlighted the importance of data analytics and AI in modern policing and law enforcement. He urged participants to develop solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also practical and ethically sound in real-world situations.

CDTI Director Dr. Kapoor welcomed all the guests and shared the concept of Shield 1.0. He explained that transforming the creative thinking of young people into scalable models in the field of security and defense is the primary priority of this hackathon. Distinguished guests, Dr. Meenakshi Tripathi from MNIT Jaipur and cyber expert Mr. Yogesh Rao also shared their views on the importance of innovation and indigenous technological development.

Immediately after the inaugural ceremony, technical sessions and coding rounds began, with students from various institutions enthusiastically showcasing their talents.

This two-day brainstorming session is expected to yield technological models that will bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the workings of security agencies and make a meaningful contribution to national security.
