Hindaun City — In a major breakthrough, Sadar Police Station arrested Mohan Meena, a resident of Sankra village, accused of attacking forest officials during an illegal mining incident in the hilly region of Sankra.
About eight months ago, forest officials received a tip about illegal mining using an LNT machine in the Pochhadi Kothar Nala area. When the forest team arrived, the miners fled the scene. An LNT machine was seized and sealed on-site.
Later, the machine owner Ghanshyam Meena, Killu Meena, and others returned, attacked the forest officials with sticks and rods, and forcibly took back the machine. Forest guard Pinty Singh was injured in the incident.
While the main accused was already arrested, Mohan Meena, who had been absconding, was nabbed by police in a recent operation. Officers Sanjay, Bharat, Hemendra, and Pradhan were part of the arresting team.
