Hatia UNO Viral MMS: The Ministry of Public Administration in Bangladesh has taken swift action against Hatia’s Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Md Alauddin, following the circulation of a controversial video on social media.

According to an official notification issued on the evening of March 17, 2026, Alauddin has been relieved of his current duties and reassigned as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD). This type of reassignment is typically used to remove officials from active administrative roles without formal dismissal.

Viral Clip Triggers Public Debate

The decision came less than 24 hours after a 29-second video clip went viral online. The footage allegedly shows the officer in a compromising situation with a young woman.

Official Statement and Denial

The notification was signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Tanvir Hasan Ruman.Meanwhile, Alauddin has denied any wrongdoing. He claimed that individuals from his previous posting in Tahirpur, located in Sunamganj, deliberately circulated the video with malicious intent.

No Forensic Confirmation Yet

So far, digital security experts have not released any forensic analysis to confirm the authenticity of the video. The lack of verification has added another layer of uncertainty to the controversy.

Officer Goes Incommunicado

Local media reports indicate that Alauddin left his workplace on March 16, shortly after the video surfaced, heading toward the district headquarters. Since then, his mobile phone has reportedly been switched off.

Officials at the Hatia office have confirmed his absence, while the identity of the woman seen in the video remains unknown.
